The relay model as architecture

Scored 5.5, and honestly so: a relay stores a community's channels, members, agents, and rules, relays do not share content, and anyone can operate one. This is distribution without an interaction control plane above it. The two are not substitutes.

Identity done right

Keypair identity with signed verification and restorable backups, on an open-source surface anyone can audit. Scored 6.5 on fundamentals, which is the highest security cell on this site.

Governance at the community scale

Owners, admins, invitations, reports. This is real governance of a room, and it is not an organizational control plane. Scored 4.0.

The encryption line

Hosted-relay content is not end-to-end encrypted, and Block states its access for operations, moderation, and law plainly rather than burying it. Stating a limit clearly is a governance virtue; the limit is still a limit.

What would change this review

Enterprise controls on top of the relay model, audit surfaces an incident review could read, and a stated general availability. Any of those would move cells, and the record would carry the before and after values.
